Rev. Dr. Daniel Schrock, Pastor
Daniel grew up in a dusty galaxy far, far away in the town of Farmington, New Mexico. In 2007 he convinced his midwestern wife Eliza to marry him and follow him across the country to Philadelphia. There Daniel worked as the Youth Director, Interim Pastor, and Pastor at a Presbyterian congregation in Northeast Philly. He and Eliza have two spritely daughters, Anastasia and Eliana, who test Daniel’s patience as well as fill his life with incredible joy.
He received a BA in Philosophy from New Mexico State University and an M.Div. from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. He also has a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Westminster Seminary and wrote a dissertation on the theology of Herman Bavinck. He also serves at adjunct professor at Mid-America Reformed Seminary.
In March 2021, he moved to Wheaton to take the call as the Associate Pastor at Bethel, OPC. His call was later changed, and he was installed as the Pastor in May 2023. Daniel’s mother grew up in Schaumburg, and he loves finally living in Chicagoland. It is good for his soul (though perhaps not his waistline) at last to have access to a steady supply of deep-dish pizza and Portillo’s hot dogs. He is a lifelong Chicago Bears fan who is still perplexed by the Bears’ decision to fire Lovie Smith.
Daniel has a passion for preaching, teaching, college ministry, loving people, cultivating the communion of the saints, and training up leaders for the church.

Rev. Dr. G.C. Hammond, Associate Pastor
George (“Chip” to his friends, which is just about everyone) grew up in an idyllic suburb of northern New Jersey about forty minutes outside of Manhattan, with no religious faith or church attendance. Through an existential crisis in his first year of college, Chip trusted in Jesus and committed himself to following Him. He eventually transferred from the state university where he was studying to Nyack College in order to add Bible and Theology to his academic studies.
After his graduation, Chip worked as the Director of Admissions for Northeastern Bible College, and then as unordained stated supply and interim for Broughton Presbyterian Church in Bloomfield, NJ, before leaving for Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia. After graduating from Westminster with an M.Div. Chip was called by Bethel Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Leesburg, VA where he served as pastor for more than thirty-one years.
During his tenure at the church in Leesburg, Chip was involved in numerous ministries to the broader community. He was asked by the Leesburg Chief of Police to help establish a chaplaincy program for the Department and served as the Department’s first Senior Chaplain; he served as Chaplain to U.S. Tae Kwon Do in Leesburg, earning a black belt along the way; he helped establish the Leesburg branch of Tree of Life, a cooperative of Christian Churches that provides physical care for the poor and needy, points them to Christ, and disciples them into local churches; from 2014-2024 he was a Senior Teaching Fellow for the C.S. Lewis Institute’s Loudoun Campus; and from 2018-2024 he taught third year Greek and Theology for the Loudoun Classical School.
Chip received his M.Div. from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, and his D.Min, from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Along with his wife Donna they raised four children, the youngest of which was eventually diagnosed with a rare condition called STX-BP1. Her presence in their life led to Chip’s doctoral studies, and resulted in the publication of his book It Has Not Yet Appeared What We Shall Be: A Reconsideration of the Imago Dei in Light of Those with Severe Cognitive Disabilities (P&R, 2017).
Now empty-nesters, Chip and his wife Donna have immensely enjoyed regularly playing local venues (D.C. area) with small jazz ensembles (Donna sings, Chip plays the drums). From time to time, Chip has done a story-and-song presentation entitled “Spirituality in a Minor Key: Connections Between Faith and Jazz and Blues” for his own and other area churches.
